Vinod Rai the chairman of the Committee of Administrators has recommended that the two cricketers namely Hardik Pandya and K.L Rahul must be banned from playing two ODI cricket matches. The recommendation was made by Vinod because of the controversial comments made by the cricketers with regards to women on the famous talk show Koffee with Karan hosted by Karan Johar.
However, the COA members Diana Edulji has referred the matter to the legal cell of the BCCI. Diana Edulji has sought an opinion from the president, secretary, and treasurer of the BCCI in this matter. Mr. Anirudh the treasurer of the BCCI has said that the two cricketers must be suspended for the comments they have made and also recommend a gender sensitization program for them. He further said that it must be looked into how the two cricketers appeared in the show as the earlier contracts and practices required that the players seek permission before appearing in such shows and interviews. He also stressed that it must be seen whether the cricketers had sought prior permission and from whom the permission was sought before appearing in the entertainment talk show hosted by famous Bollywood director Karan Johar.
Vinod Rai, on the other hand, has said that he is not satisfied and convinced by the explanation given by cricketer Hardik Pandya. He further said that the comments made by Hardik where crass, in bad taste and unacceptable.
