A contempt case was filed against Anil Ambani the Rcom Chairman by Ericsson over unpaid dues of INR 550 Crores. The Hon’ble Supreme Court of India has now issued a revised order stating that RCom Chairman Anil Ambani will have to appear before the court at the next hearing. While hearing the contempt petition Justice RF Nariman and Justice Vineet Saran issued a revised order stating that the personal appearance of the persons accused of contempt has not been dispensed with.
Famous Supreme Court lawyers Kapil Sibal and Mukul Rohatgi appearing on behalf of the accused had requested the court to accept INR 118 crore towards outstanding amount. However, the counsel appearing on behalf of Ericsson refused to accept the amount and said that the entire sum must be deposited.
